When Students Turn to Terror - Anthony Glees & Chris Pope

Channel 4 News has today given extensive coverage to the forthcoming Social Affairs Unit report - by Prof. Anthony Glees and Chris Pope - When Students Turn to Terror: Terrorist and Extremist Activity on British Campuses. The report will be published on Monday 26th September 2005.

Update 16th September: The Social Affairs Unit's report When Students Turn to Terror is today the subject of The Guardian's lead, above-the-fold front page story: Extremist groups active inside UK universities, report claims.

When Students Turn to Terror has also today received coverage in The Times: Terror Groups at 24 Campuses.

When Students Turn to Terror's co-author, Prof. Anthony Glees, has been interviewed about the report by BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

Update 18th September: When Students Turn to Terror was today the subject of the first item on BBC Radio 4's Sunday programme, with Prof. Anthony Glees being interviewed.

When Students Turn to Terror is also the subject of a story in the Sunday Times: Dundee students recruited by terrorist groups.

Update 19th September: When Students Turn to Terror is today reported on in The Scotsman: Terror groups "recruiting at Scottish universities".

Update 23rd September: When Students Turn to Terror is the subject of a double page spread in the Times Higher Education Supplement. The coverage, as well as publishing excerpts from the report, includes a piece by Anthony Glees, "Beacons of truth or crucibles of terror?", and a rebuttal piece by Gordon Johnson, president of Wolfson College and deputy vice-chancellor of Cambridge University, "Cause to pause before starting the witch trials".

The report is also covered in today's Jewish Chronicle in the lead front page story: "Campus racism warnings - Two major reports highlight the problems facing Jewish students".

Update 27th September: When Students Turn to Terror has today been covered in the Financial Times: Tough checks urged on overseas students.

Update 28th September: When Students Turn to Terror has this morning received extensive coverage on Radio 4's Today programme.

Update 14th October: When Students Turn to Terror, and the controversy the report generated, today receives further coverage in the Times Higher Education Supplement: Glees report on terror riles V-Cs [Vice-Chancellors].

Update 16th October: When Students Turn to Terror is the basis of an investigation - to quote from the article "The Sunday Times began the investigation after a report by Professor Anthony Glees" - by the Sunday Times featured in today's paper: "Stealth" Islamists recruit students. Anthony Glees is interviewed in the story.
