Policy is not always necessary - The NHS
Posted by Watlington
Those who criticise the Tory leadership for not setting out detailed policy now couldn't be more wrong. The Conservatives now lead Labour over the NHS (usually Labour's strongest card) despite having said very little about it over the past few months. Today Cameron signposts future NHS policy by saying that the NHS will be run free of politicians and that targets etc. will be removed. This is excellent news. Let us hope that when we do get policy there is at least a smattering of social insurance and a provision that enables the private and voluntary sector to run hospitals and GP surgeries.
